SP/NWP used concrete on some ROW signage, particularly cross bucks and line side indications. These letters and numbers were recessed in the concrete for painting. Doubt if any were used higher than a tunnel portal as they were pretty heavy and vandal proof. This may have been a Harriman thing?? Most of this has gone the way of the wig wag.
