Yes, a switchboard is what it is commonly called, but is is actually a cord board. The switchboards were before this.

In the 1960's when I worked at the SP radio shop at the foot of 7th street in Oakland, I used to ride the bus with an elderly lady who operated the last switchboard in northern California. Whenever she would take a vacation the temps would have a hell of a time.
