Also Richmond Question: Stege Wye Area Questionnes

The topos from the 60's to the 90's show that the UC Field Engineering Field Station had a network of spurs. In the 90's topo and the 2012 aerial pictures this trackage is shown as being accessed off the tracks that run out of the yard that Richmond PAcific yes. The lead itself came off these tracks right before the wye switch. Still in place in 2012 it appears. But in the 1970s topos there is not shown any lead here and these tracks are shown as being accessed via a lead of the UP main crossing 580 somehow.

Curious if this discrepancy actually existed or if it was just a map maker's mistake back in the 70's? Also, what were those spurs for? I'm going to guess they went in in WWII and may have seen limited service for folks renting buildings from the field station? I did find a 1993 picture on the aerials site that shows what looks like tank cars there. By 2002 the site has been leveled.

I also noticed in the topos that there was a long lead running along the bayshore behind this site to Point Isabel.

Richmond must've been an extremely busy place with lots of business for the belt railroad that worked here then--was it a joint ATSF/SP venture?
