Yes cannibalism survival of the fittest may be good. Have GGRM take over for IP when their contract term is up. GGRM then gets a small revenue stream (switching in Watsonville) and more control over operating up and down the coast to start.

Weekend excursions from San Jose to Santa Cruz is where this ultimately needs to go. 2472 to start and add 2479 and you get a 2 fer/more efficiency in the shop. Use the F units in between steam ops and run around/ layover at the new GGRM proposed yard which would also use the REA building as the station for both GGRM and Roaring Camp. Plenty of nearby parking. County maintains the tracks, GGRM brings the trains and deep pocket tourists from Silicon Valley.
