STAY AWAY FROM NARCOA

First off, NARCOA Certification is not recognized by any railroad or the
FRA. it only allows hobbyists to operate during club excursions. NARCOA rules don"t even meet basic requirements for Roadway Worker Protection, a federal requirement for operating on track equipment.

NARCOA always operates with a railroad escort.

As for safety, NARCOA's lack of it almost killed person a few years ago in Oakdale,CA account not protecting a crossing. More and more railroads are saying NO to NARCOA for good reason. I guess the ones that still do need the money. Ask the sierra railroad if the accident and lawsuit was worth the few thousand dollars for the excursion.

look for other groups for better guidance, stay away from NARCOA.
