2: The election is done. If you want to keep griping go find a suitable echo chamber and let the rest of us see more than one thread per page, preferably about trains.
3: On the whistlestop subject - it still happens, just not with trains. Trump did it by giving press conferences at the airport with his 757 (which did constrain his ability to get into some smaller cities) prominently in the picture behind him. Political analysts might want to consider whether that had some beneficial effect - being seen by and with the local press as well as the national pool, as well as at the carefully controlled local rallies - compared to the more "traditional" modern TV campaign of Hillary. Certainly, it was a return to older methods of campaigning, and he carried it off well considering the amount of free advertising he got from it. But considering the territory that needs to be covered in modern campaigns (3-4 states a day, maybe even cross-country) trains just aren't in the picture as campaign tools any more.
