The real noteworthy item in that article was that several structures were flagged back in 1980. So they were what, 10 years old at that time, and now another 37 years has gone by? Why wasn't this addressed with Bechtel and the original subs back at that time?
Item 2 of interest is that it appears that Tudor did the study or a portion of the study? Of course they will find everything possible wrong, as they will likely get the contracts to repair or replace it. Maybe the Walnut Creek added some independent analysis to the review?
The (slightly) heavy cars make for an attention grabbing headline, but the real story (or a least the tip of the iceberg) is buried in it.
