NWP etc

I seldom post in this forum, but I read a lot of it. I want to say that I truly enjoy reading the comments on NWP, SMART, and the people in the towns fighting anything and everything about it.
It occurs to me that it's a good thing most railroads were built when they were. Imagine trying to build a transcontinental railroad today! It could not be done. Witness the little DM&E, trying to simply upgrade their track and add a couple hundred miles of new track. Ten years, and millions of $, and little yet to show for it.
Witness those people in Chicagoland, trying to stop CN from buying a regional railroad to use the track to ease congestion.
It seems that anywhere and everywhere this sort of thing goes on. Everybody thinks rail is a good thing, but not near their own little space.
Keep it up, please. I really enjoy reading both sides of the story.
One question, though:
Is the plan with NWP to operate it all the way into Sausalito? On a map, I see a lot of track that is listed as abandoned. It it the intention to reopen this?
And how far to the north would it be operated, if it happens as planned?
Thanks
