NS sues manufacturer of defective ties ... defective "wood" ties

There have been several problems with defective concrete ties being manufactured ... but defective wood ties is a new one to me.

Norfolk Southern says that instead of using materials that preserve the wood, officials with Boatright Railroad Products Inc. ordered workers to “make them black” so they only appeared to be properly treated.

Its just a short article without much detail. I'm sure more will come out as this story develops.
