Keep in mind that there are some pretty long runs with those ICEs (such as Basel to Hamburg, some 7 hour running time, with quite a bit of passenger changes (on that line, a seat could easily be used by 4 or more people)). And because the garbage baskets are very small, they would overfill very quickly. Then, there are sometimes very short turnaround times, not allowing for much servicing.

Of course, it depends a lot, but if DB can bring some of their "way to do it", we eventually can expect a decently run operation. It is only to hope that a minimum of USAn railroader practice gets into the operation.
