I'll add my two cents with some underrated stretches...

1. The ex-Milwaukee between St Maries ID and Plummer Junction - the view of the river that runs between the two lakes is unlike anything else in the world. And a trestle that has a 1% grade start right in the middle of it!

2. The old Spokane International (UP) between Moyie Falls and Bonners Ferry.

3. I happen to appreciate the stark beauty of the channeled scablands of Eastern Washington. Any of the lines that run through that area (UP's Washy line, ex-SP&S, ex-Milwaukee) are apt.
