"Reformed CAHSR"? Is there such a thing as reform school for PB? Maybe Guantanamo. Van Ark tried to do a reform and that was torpedoed in short order.

Your plan seems reasonable to me - nothing to object to. But the Silicon Valley Leadership Group would not be at all pleased. And they seem to enjoy veto power with Jerry, like the Ranch.

Ah the Ranch and now the LA Times comes up. It is curious that Vartabedian never mentions the Kingdom up there at Lebec. Or for that matter the whole issue of the right and optimal southern mountain crossing. He is not a young man so maybe he remembers the Chandlers used to possess both the paper and the Kingdom and out of respect he observes omerta. But more likely the Ranch is so powerful in SoCal the paper's current management puts it totally off limits to critique or investigation, like Disney. In Norcal Apple and Facebook enjoy that kind of majesty and untouchability now. Idem the SVLG.
