Keep in mide that there have long been limits on "free speech". In Schenk v US, 1919, Oliver Wendell Holmes made the point that it doesn't include "falsely shouting fire in a crowded theater". This isn't inconsistent with extirpating "fake news" from websites today. The problem is that moderators like David are unpaid volunteers, and verifying the accuracy of all the stuff you see on this site, particularly the more bizzare postings, would probably making maintaining it such tedious drudgery that he would close down. I suspect one solution he would use is to delete all the posts about "Lying Hilary", the "Great Groper", and what not. This is too bad because as annoying as some those threads can become, it is more entertaining than train odors, which is dull as dishwater.
