1) Why do you assume that others who participate in Altamont Press are less likely to research political candidates than you?

I happen to believe that the federal government should continue to invest in Amtrak.
When I read the 2016 GOP Platform, I noted the following statement about "Amtrak is an extremely expensive railroad for the American taxpayers, who must subsidize every ticket." The House of Representatives recently considered a measure to eliminate all federal funding for Amtrak. All of the representatives who voted for this legislation were Republicans.
One more question: Are you familiar with the website Vote Smart ? It is a great source of information on political candidates. Because it is non-partisan and non-ideological you and I could use this website to research a particular candidate's positions and ratings from various interest groups and come to opposite conclusions on whether to vote for that candidate.
