There will be a news conference on the Metrolink accident at 9 am.
LA Times has an interview with former SP and Amtrak hoghead Tommy Dinger who had an interesting take on the accident.
The UP Oxnard turn (reported to be the UP train, corrections welcome if you know more?) train was pretty far down the hill, and should have shown up in the signal at the end of the Chatsworth DT to the approaching ML train, and should have been lined into the other track(?). 18 dead so far, due to those recovered this am when the Metrolink engine was moved off of victims trapped beneath. At least one member of the UP crew is reported to have survived.
