Good old Indio, The Towers where most of the Engine Crew's stayed while the Conductor's and Brakeman was holed up at the Indio or Potter Hotel. Just down the street from the Indio Hotel on Miles Ave. was McIntyres Drug store that made the best BLT's and soda fountain Coke. Right near the Towers was Teresa's Café. But if you had wheels and wanted a great Date Shake out on Indio Blvd. near the Hot Box Detector was the Burger Box and is still in operation! El Centro and Mexicali next!
