Some group opposed to guns apparently. They made the graph from publicly available data and were linked from another site, which is where I originally went. Perhaps I should add one of those classic disclaimers, "The opinions of this site do not necessarily reflect those of the writer". However the data are correct. How they are interpreted is up to the individual.

And on a distantly related topic: The death rates that you see for cars only include deaths on public roads. They do not include deaths in driveways, parking lots and private roads. Adding them in adds quite a few thousand more fatalities per year.

If someone were to invent the car for the first time this year, and it was known how many people would die annually, it is doubtful that it would be allowed.
