Well let's see, the Capitol Corridor, with it's hourly service iterspersed with Atk long-hauls and a lot more daily UP freights than the NWP will run, operates over two moveable bridges (Martinez and Sacramento--three if you want to count Drawbridge between Albrae and Alviso). How much service disruption is there? Not very much. Maybe SMART could siphon off some of that Prop 1A money to draw up some plans to build something really fancy with all kinds of foolish bells and whistles and then help the HSR people bang the tin cup when it comes time to loot the taxpayers [again] to build the thing.
