Hundreds of millions of dollars to get to Larkspur...? What kind of drugs are people taking?

SMART has had some issues with its choices, which I agree could have been better... It's that "woulda, shoulda, coulda" kind of thing, and I've been no fan of the SMART Board, or some of the management decisions.
The fact is that they are asking voters for extension of the sales tax measure, which you seem to confuse with voting for a new loan.
I would expect them to refinance some outstanding higher interest debt with today's lower interest rates with an extension of the sales tax. as that would be good for SMART and its taxpayers, since it would mean less debt service, kind of like when adults refinance their homes when they have a good income stream, and want to pay less interest.
And, did SMART really spend hundreds of millions of dollars on the Larkspur extension? Really? Or, was that just another example of the usual "source", so often used on AP, when making wild claims...? Fresh and fragrant....just plucked, and still warm?
It's really too bad SMART didn't spend "hundreds of millions" to spend on the Larkspur extension. Instead of the actual $37 million dollar contracted amount for the extension. Because if SMART had had "hundreds of millions" to spend on the Larkspur extension, they could have easily afforded another half mile elevated extension across the parking lot to the Ferry... But, since, of course, they didn't actually spend that amount, nor had it available for the Larkspur extension, you have this very real connectivity problem.
I've seem plenty legitimate to criticize about SMART, this post, and most of this "rage" thread about "evil" SMART is mostly a collection of Mouse turds and pure BS...
