I pursued that lead. I found this page showing that there was a Parcel Post Annex on the Oakland Army Terminal(Base) in the 1960s. It was in a building 1102 and handled parcel posts and 3rd Class mail. In 1965 it was slated to be abandoned upon the completion of the soon to be built sorting facility on 7th Street.
Unfortunately can't find a map showing the building numbers of the Oakland Army Base.
I did take a look at the 1959 USGS quad and it shows this building is just inside the Army's reservation--there's a dotted line delineating that boundary. But still need to find out who who that lead belonged to. Based on Dr. Z's post it did come off the SP but need to find out who performed the switching for the building in question.
