OPB has some interesting ideas that merit consideration.

But the blurred vision problem with operating in a depressed ROW I can't fathom. What are you going to do about operating in long tunnels or tubes, which are even more claustrophobic? At least there is sunlight in a ditch.

Surface operations are preferred, but grade separation for major roads will be needed - the political opposition to outright closure will be too great.
