Re: Freight loco horns are much louder after they pass

As a 14 year old with tender hearing , I took a ride in a GP7. When air from the brake valve exhausted with a blast from the control stand, it was the loudest noise I had heard in my life up until then. I couldn’t believe it was designed that way.
