Volt was a very different car from the Bolt. It was a early (sold from 2012 to 2019) plugin hybrid, not a straight electric like the Bolt. Volts were similar to a Cruze in body style and size with limited interior space (mostly unusable back seat, for instance). Volts did not have a fire problem; that was a first-gen Bolt issue resolved by replacing the battery with one that had a slight redesign and better quality control. They could get 35-50 miles on electric from a full charge (depending on year - the early ones had less electric-only range), after which the engine started up to keep the car going. Main problem is that parts for them are pretty much unobtainium now, whether or not a warranty still applies (late models still have a little time to run on the battery warranty and HV system). Their reliability reputation is mixed, but overall better than the average Chevy.
