No. Your "scientific" response is not very useful. Give me statistics for vehicles parked versus underway to address my concern about having a home fire.

Fire risk by vehicle (Parked and charging)
Electric vehicles:
Gas-powered cars:
Hybrid cars:

Fire risk by vehicle (Under Way)
Electric vehicles:
Gas-powered cars:
Hybrid cars:

An electric vehicle parked and charging will surely have a HIGHER PROBABILITY of catching fire than a parked gasoline auto. There are cases of charging batteries catching on fire: "The NTSB faulted the owners of the Southern California dive boat Conception in a fire last year that killed 33 passengers and a crew member."

An electric vehicle underway must have a LOWER PROBABILITY of catching fire than a gas auto. I have seen enough gasoline autos in flames along road to know it is common.

For my home safety, I am uneasy about having a powerful battery charging inside my home garage.
