RP is having a cow over a little grain? That happens with a many types of film! ;-)

But to the question at hand. If you're still on Vue Scan John, go ahead and use a "light" grain reduction on the filter options. Then do your sharpening in Photoshop. The grain reduction feature with Vue Scan helps out a lot on my Ilford HP5 scans. My experience has been that a scanner much more sensitive to grain than a diffusion based enlarger in the darkroom.
