OldPoleBurner - The noise that is being discussed is not the same as artifacts. It's much more like the grain you found in TriX Pan film. The higher the ISO setting on the camera, the more noise you get. This transfers to scanning in that film grain is perceived as digital noise by some.

John - When I think of all the junk/crap/garbage film that I shot instead of just sticking to Kodachrome 25 and Kodachrome 64, it makes me want to cry. Nothing like scanning on a quality scanner to really see the difference too.
