True enough - But neither does pessimism!
But pessimism will - all on its own - kill anything it touches.
I don't know what is so special about the NWP. It will have to hustle for its business, just the same as SP, UP, WP, or even the PP! - or any other railroad. If your gonna start a railroad, and keep running it, you had better keep on hustlin' for the customers. But come to think of it - isn't that true of just about any other kind of business as well. So shouldn't we just expect a whole lot of hustlin' here, to get the traffic back on the rails.
I for one, would fully expect that. It's a given! So why all the pessimism by amateurs who have no real facts? Fact is, that hustling is something most short line operators are very very good at! They are certainly much better than the likes of U.P., or SP before them.
Also, just like any other real business, they will just do it. So don't expect them to spout off about any of it to a bunch of snippy railfans, nor to any other naysayers. They'll just do it.
I'll close by saying that Nothing great was ever accomplished by listening to naysayers or pessimists - nor by being one!

P.S. -- Oh BTW, sometimes a clever "Smart-Alec" remark can be a bit of fun. Humor us! At least as long as it isn't particularly disrespectful.
