Correct Dates of New Bypass

There seems to be some discussion concerning the date that the line was cut over to the new bypass in Trinidad so I called the retired BN Trainmaster in Trinidad and got the following information.

The BN Denver Division Timetable No. 3, issued April 7, 1991 page 16 left column shows the following stations in Trinidad: East Trinidad, Trinidad and West Trinidad, no ATSF Crossing is shown. It is the first timetable to show the new line. Karl the former Trainmaster said that BN was still doing a lot of work on the new line and trains used both routes during the early summer. The offical grand opening was Friday August 16, 1991 when the Special Train was run.

ATSF System Timetable No. 2 dated April 7, 1991, Central Region Raton Sub MP 635.8 page 115 still shows BN Crossing for the above stated date. Timetable No 3 dated October 25, 1992 Central Region, Raton Sub Page 116 shows BN Crossing to have been removed.
