Quote:Sanchez's ethnicity and sexual preference are irrelevant
It is if we, like you, prefer to view a situation such as this in its most basic, simplistic terms. All sorts of whistles and bells should have been going off as Sanchez was building his realtionship(s) with these boys(s). It was so wrong on so many levels. Of course, inappropriateness is in the eye of the beholder. I'm sure members of NAMBLA (Google it, if necessary) would have seen no problem with any of this. HR Departments and Government agencies that insist on certain hiring practices should not be able to walk away from this scene, thinking that they had no fiduciary responsibilities. I feel they do.
Quote:to harp on them is only proof that our idiot nation is transfixed by a news media that is really nothing but entertainment.
So you feel that it was wrong for the news media to investigate Sanchez' past and reveal his personal problems to the general public? I strongly disagree. Our society suffers from a severe lack of knowledge to begin with. For a news media to be fearful of publishing in-depth articles out of political correctness or accusations of sensationalism would be scary indeed. If you, personally, don't like what the media broadcasts / publishes, then don't consume it. But don't expect the rest of us to subscribe to your philosophy. It gets back to that concept of living in a free society.
Quote:Sanchez was a careless, incompetent fool
Agreed. But I feel the actions (or inactions) of several other parties played a role as well. To blame all of this 100 percent on Sanchez is too simplistic. Connex will soon find themselves in the hot seat when the lawsuits start rolling in. Hopefully, other parties (such as Metrolink) will also have to face the music and not have their sub-contracting features insulate them from all responsibility and liability.
Quote:nothing more
I disagree. Again, it's too simplistic to asess all the blame for this on just one individual that you describe as a careless, incompetent fool. There were others involved.
