So how much do you think a computer should cost? And how much should mowing a lawn cost? Or a Hamburger? Or a brain surgeon for that matter?
IT'S EASY ! --- As much as it takes to get someone to do it of their own free will, without having to resort to some kind of extortion, such as what illegals face daily. Besides, if your not willing to pay the full cost (in equivalent labor) of that hamburger or whatever - maybe you should just do without - the world does not owe you a thing.
And almost more important than that - pay enough to cover the real costs of providing the skill and labor in the first place. That means of course, the full cost of living - period; including such things as housing, healthcare, food, transportation, tools for the job, and anything else it takes to keep a human being alive and happy. If he/she ain't happy and healthy, or even alive, just how much labor could he/she actually manage to produce anyway - ABSOLUTELY NONE.
So of course, when anything is produced by substandard wages, its price may seem lower; but in actuality, your taxes, insurance rates, hospital bills, and a myriad other things are much higher, just to subsidize the low wages, and finally, the crappy hamburgers your killing your own selves with anyway. Maybe all that state welfare programs actually accomplish is to subsidize low wages for the benefit of modern "Plantation Owners" Illegal immigration just shifts those costs to someone else, rather than the cheapskate employer of illegals.
We either keep providers of labor alive and well, or we don't. But we ain't gonna do that with substandard wages alone.
