Classes of work

What most people in this country, and a number of you who are responding, have entirely wrong and in doing so created a huge tangled mess is how different classes of work is valued.
Sports players are paid millions of dollars, yet how does that benefit the basic needs of every individual?
Executives are paid millions of dollars, yet are they more valuable that the teachers that are teaching tommarows executives?
Farm workers are considered to be doing mundane menial work, and are paid wages that can never be considered anything resembling an honest days wage. But where would your food come from if they did not do that work?
Janitors are considered to be way down on the totem pole. But if they did not do that work, every building would quickly be filled with trash and stench, so isnt their job vauluable?
What would happen if there were no trash men to pick up all that trash and haul it away out of sight and out of mind? Is their job then valuable?
The Mexican and other nationals employeed by the railroads to build the railroad networks were treated poorly and unjustly, but wasnt their jobs valuable in what they accomplished?
Doesn't that stable hand that is only paid $50 per day provide a service much more valuable than that, and therefore should be provided with proper just compensation?
This country, founded on the back of hard work, sacrifice, respect and helpfulness has become one of minimal effort, greed, ego and self gratification.
Yes, I know of aquantences that have workers that are probably "illegal" immegrants. But they are provided with fair wages, fair housing, food resources, to the point that they are then able to send money to their family back in Mexico that have little or nothing.
We should all be ashamed of ourselves. Ashamed of what we have allowed this country to become.
In our public schools, there are 2 classes of kids: Those that are taught they should only seek out the best paying carrers possible, and those that are taught that they will amount to nothing and will end up on welfare. In other words, our schools are teaching our kids it is all about MONEY, MONEY and MONEY.
No, it is not the politicians that have to change: It is each and every one of us that must change to become again a nation that values hard work, sacrifice, respect and helpfullness.
