Canada's health care is free? Well not quite.
But it certainly is worth every penny you pay for it - well not quite.
But at least those Canadians are paying for what they came here for, themselves - and then returning home.
Fact is all those scare stories are mostly true - sadly. In case after case I know of personally. In fact, I know of two cases just last year, of Canadian friends of mine (met 'em while they served in our Navy).
Both needed help, one with a painful undiagnosed bone joint problem - he's on a 7 month waiting list for an MRI. The Canadian gov't, in its infinite wisdom, thinks they have more than enough MRI machines. Meanwhile the pain and immobility has cost him his job. The other now has terminal cancer - it was found when he finally was allowed his MRI - almost a year after his doctor first called for it. It might have been operable if they had found it soon enough - he should've come here.
Funny, that reminded me - When at sea, sailors are always kvetching about something or other - But if you complain about the chow - you invariably get told to go next door - ha ha ha! Typical answer when there is only one source - a monopoly.
When the Canadians don't like their health care - apparently, they ARE going next door! But bet on it - when you need to go next door (it's gonna happen), there won't be any next door left.
