Smitty has the gist of it. Problem was a TV crew showed up and the Police seemed to be taking it all quite seriously. Also some self annointed train-expert must have told the media 'how easy' to would be for someone to steal the train. A replacement crew showed up were quite stunned to find the Circus. In a town with few truck stops the Police genuinely did not understand why the diesel engines were running.
