A few years ago, a building designed to look somewhat like an SP wooden depot was built near the tracks in Dixon. At the time, certain people were advocating a commuter train system that would run both east and west from Sacramento. My understanding at the time was that this building was built with some sort of government grant money, and that it was a "use it or lose it" situation. The building apparently is a station for local buses, and perhaps serves other purposes for the city as well. It has absolutely nothing to do with existing rail passenger service; I've never heard anything suggesting the Capital Corridor was considering a station stop at Dixon. Might make a nice prop for photos, though.
