This has been a good open dialog and I think it's great that no one has been name calling or letting it get out of hand.

Everyone enjoys seeing these trains run. We all have different interest and passion for and about them. We also all come from different walks of life. I believe Ed, Friends of 4449, SP&S700, OR&N197, and Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation appreciate and value each and every supporter out there.

I find the opening post a gentle and timely reminder that YOU can make a difference.

This past weekend on the waterfront of Portland, Ore. Over $700,000 was raised for the Oregon Food Bank at the 24th annual Waterfront Blues Festival. That "FREE" event comes with relentless pressure the "BUY" a sticker that shows you made a donation. Good luck getting away with not making one. No such pressure with the 4449, but the idea is similar, YOU do make a difference.

This topic has brought up many opinions and observations and some good ideas have been shared. We all share in this passion together. Letting people know what and how they contribute makes a difference is a good thing, and that's at the heart of Ed's request.

I might not always agree with how something is done, but that does not diminish my support for achieving the goal.
