well Junior i'm a big enough man to admit the error of my ways and my old bullheaded thickheadedness ... after reexamining the photos especially photo 2 i now understand the southbound incoming signal is to the left of the rear car of the San Joaquin out of sight north of the crossing here which means the rear of the train was in the interlocking ... for some reason when i looked at photo #2 i understood the collision point to be under the middle pedestrian crosswalk ... which in my scenario would've given him another 400 ft or so of stopping distance which wasn't the case with 14's power being at the northbound signal ... that does change my perspective on the location of the incident but not my perspective of whether PTS could've prevented this incident which it definatley would have given what was stated above about how the system works ... that's it i'm done you all have a nice day ... time to go railroading for a living
