Someone said they were not impressed with our operation. Well, how about his fact, in the last 12 years we have missed ONE trip. The first run on the day. We made the other 3 including our diner train. Name any other railroad that can say that. We do not have a 2nd engine to run (yet). We do not have a diesel to pull the train with. We run steam EVERYDAY that we run. No other railroad does that in the PNW. MRSR and OCSR both have diesels that take the train in the event that the steam engine can not preform that day.

Someone said the crew gets paid. Yes they do. But its not much. Its not like the crew is making $20 an hour. I drive over an hour to be there. I spend more in fuel than I make. Why do I do it? Because I love working around steam. I love the guys they have down there. There are quite a few young guys that keep the 15 running. They do it because they want to, not because they have to. So before you bash the railroad and its crew anymore, ask your self this, what have you done to help the railroad? You want to see more cars on the train? Find some for us. We would love to have more.
