And just where & from whom is the funds coming from to build a brand new ROW where nothing has existed?? What, print more worthless paper?
If the NWP or the NCRA wants to build that badly, what's wrong in approaching the land owner(s) on the opposite side of the mighty Eel River that SP once tried doing with no success? At least if a deal could be struck & agreed upon, that would keep the "Friends of the Eel" at bay, would it not?
Rebuild the remaining section of the NWP responsibly instead of thinking that if the HSR can garner the needed funds, so can the NWP!!!
I mean it's one thing to rebuild the line if land can be bought to make washouts minimal, but to spent megabucks across an area that hasn't been surveyed since 1909 is outright insanity!
Come on folks, if anything is to be built, how about working north from Windsor first and getting to Willits before hatching some idea to build across a piece of land just to get to the mainline.
Why is it that public entities think that the hog trough is & always will be full of pork barrel money?
