Sorry, I have to disagree with you here. Lately, ever since Newite's been around (and Rush the Drug User too), it's been the Republican'ts who march in lockstep, not the Dems. Why else has there been such gridlock in the House? Non-negotiable demands, BTW, are a Marxist-Lenninist political tool, which the Party of Absolute Laize-Faire Economics has been using for some decades now..

This has to do with the difference between astro-turf (GOP) and grass roots (DEM). It's also part and parcel of its being easier to be on the outside carping than it is to be in office where it's necessary to formulate policies which affect the whole of society. (Why, those "Nattering Nabobs of Negativism").
