Yet another one...

I got in trouble with the union clerks up in Chicago...

for reasons that I don't remember, when I had to do payrolls, I wrote out the 7 digit in the European manner, that is with a slash through the stem of the 7...

well, this was too much for the clerks to handle; my boss, the Director of Disbursements, had to settle them down, and also make sure that I wrote the 7 digit in the proper US manner, which I did.
