So sad to see such biased and baseless comments from those make it appear they do not understand what goes on in the real world.

As a former truck driver that has driven that truck bypass hundreds of times, that part of the freeway has been a major accident waiting to happen for a long time. There is a major design flaw that even former CHP officals will acknowledge, yet cars were continued to be allowed to use that truck bypass, and at unsafe speeds. In 1993, I actually sent a letter to Sacramento requesting at the minumum a maximum speed of 40 MPH on that truck bypass AND abosulte enforcement of it and to keep cars off of it. Up to 10:41 PM on Friday 10/12/07, cars were still going through that tunnel at a dangerous speed of 60-70 miles per hour.
