The California High Speed Rail System won't be Maglev but steel wheel on steel rail. On the 24th of October, the California Transportation Commission will be allocating $15,000,00 to the High Speed Rail Commission for engineering and R/W for the portion in southern CA (LA, Orange & San Diego Counties).
