We drove up today to San Jose via hwy 87/85 where the VTA rules in the middle of the road----empty trains----------and we sat for 2 hours at the newly revived Lou's Village at the corner of Willow and Lincoln in Willow Glen where the VTA buses come with great frequency----------all of the trains we saw and all of the buses we saw were empty, but of course it was not commute hours, but hey, school is out and people are going shopping and to movies and to eat at the many restaurants in Willow Glen, but apparently no one was riding the VTA buses or trains, best we could see. There is, of course, a new parking garage there at Lincoln and Willow, "Town Center" it is called, and of course, that is where we parked. I suppose we could have boarded a bus in Morgan Hill or Gilroy to eventually take us to the venue in WIllow Glen but we would probably still be on it waiting to get to our destination.
On another board I told that when the VTA light rail got connected to Santa Teresa where I worked, it would have taken me 1 hour and 45 minutes to get from my house in EVergreen to my job------in my car, which was a reverse commute, it would take anywhere from 13 to 17 minutes depending on how I hit the stop lights on Capitol Expwy and Cottle Rd.
