Thanks to all that posted on this topic. Perhaps that is why my memory needed refreshing regarding a timetable for the Suntan Special.....There wasn't any??!!
As I said in my initial post, when I rode it it was pulled by the streamlined 4400 series Lima Daylight locomotive, so I imagine if the rail could hold that locomotive it would be able to hold any diesel electric that was put on it? I do remember going real fast in stretches -70MPH+.
I am also curious, as one other poster asked, what were the "regular" stops this train made between SF and Sta. Cruz?
