The closest vehicle looks like an International Harvester "Scout". Then there was the competing Jeepster "Commando" (I think). When I was stationed at Ft. Ord, I used to head into Monterrey and work my way through the auto dealers selling these vehicles. Sadly, an income of $100/month pretty much kept these vehicles beyond anything I could buy. I would have gone for the Jeepster, cooler style.
