Having been born and raised in Santa Rosa and now am 48yrs old, I can remember the 100 car trains of the lumber and all the "locals" that ran between Petalumama and Ukiah. There is few businesses left. Possible gravel in Healdsburg , lumber in Cloverdale(transloading now in Windsor) basically would need a transloading in Ukiah or Redwood Valley. That's the reality. There is already a huge warehouse in Napa the handles wine( CFNRR ) NWP handles 3 feed mills and now hops for Laginutis in Petaluma. Maybe 4-5 center beams to Windsor a month. Now the county is extending the contract for the garbage dump in Cotati so you can kiss any idea of a garbage train goodbye. Any rock that maybe shipped would come from a new quarry that is about 20miles north of Willits that would need to pass a ton of hurdles before you see any cars coming south. Not sure where the traffic will come from to be honest
