Deregulation

Apparently many on this board are too young to remember to horrible condition of the railroad industry prior to deregulation. We are fortunate today to have an amazingly successful rail system. Of course there will be temporary problems such as we have today on the northern systems brought about by unforseen growth in the oil and gas industries. Left alone, the railroad companies will recover from that. If they have to spend time and money answering government hearings and complying with new government regulations, things will only get worse. Keep the politicians out of it--especially in an election year.
