You and many others on this board seem to have selective memory as to which president approved railroad deregulation - yup, it was the much reviled Jimmy Carter.

The peak year for manufacturing jobs in the United States was in 1979. The source is not from an organization which would be supportive of Jimmy Carter's economic policies.
