Morning Sun books are a lot like Arcadia books in as much as the publisher provides a cookie cutter type format and may edit for house style, but otherwise they have to trust the author knows about what he or she is talking. Blanket statements like "Morning Sun doesn't care" are off the mark, in as much as they DO care, but at the same time they can't fact check every statement made in every one of their books- as per contracts, that's the author's job, not the publishers. These books live and die by the strength of the author(s).
And, you'd be amazed what escapes your notice during proofreading, even if it is reviewed by more than one set of eyes. In my experience, an author gets only a matter of hours to review proofs before they go off to the printer...if you are very lucky, you might- just might- get a second brief look to see how the publisher handled changes to the first reviewed draft.
As WAF says, it's not as easy as it looks...
