No, the fact is that for the money spent, a degree of accuracy is in order. That's not asking a lot. If there's not going to be any care put into the project, or pride in the finished work, why bother!
Part of the problem is that many folks have become accustomed to mediocrity and are willing to accept it
Sadly, if you buy books from the equivalent of a publishing puppy mill, you're going to get a few flea infested, three legged mutts.
A quality publisher will take the time and effort to turn out a quality publication. A well executed book doesn't cost a whole lot more than a marginal one.
I don't know that I'd be jumping on Jim for knowing what he wants and being disappointed because it's not there.
